A Day to be 5.

December 20, 2010 was officially Liam Day.

It began with cinnamon toast for breakfast - his request.

Mommy and Liam had a little celebration...followed by lots of hugs and kisses :)

What you see him wearing is what he wore all day. His new footie pajamas from Gagi. He will be 15 and still wearing footie pajamas :)

Afternoon snack was, "Hey, Mommy! I want some of my birthday cake!"

He spent his afternoon playing with some of his new toys and games, but he insisted that he have his birthday balloon in his room :)

Then, much to my surprise, he said, "I want my birthday dinner!"

Well, you only turn 5 once...so...he got his birthday dinner :)

Happy Birthday, my sweet, sweet boy!

In honor of this milestone, we met with our friend and fabulous photographer, Natalie Shivers, to capture Liam as he is right at this moment in time. The thing to know about Natalie is, she is more than a photographer. She is the "child whisperer" as far as I'm concerned. She can connect with Liam in a way that no other photographer has managed to do. And he will pretty much do anything for her (or her son and assistant, Alex!). We love her for the story she gave us in these pictures.

Only 5 years ago, I was preparing to meet our sweet boy. Then, just like that, he changed us, forever.

His smile lasts forever.

His laugh seems to come from the deepest pit of his belly.

His eyes melt every piece of my heart.

His soul makes me want to begin again.

His spirit can awaken anything or anyone.

His passion reminds me of our purpose.

His love for us humbles me.

He will forever be the very best of who we are.
