I was super excited that I had THREE "$10 off a $10 item" JcPenney coupons. So, after dropping off Liam at school, I headed to the store and knew I had just a short amount of time to make the best use of these coupons and still get back to pick him up. I didn't have a clue what I was looking for, but I did vow to buy myself at least ONE thing.
Once I spotted the adorable summer section, complete with kid chairs, cool sippers, fun plates, and all kinds of fun stuff, I never even made it to the adult section.
How is that??? Even with Mother's Day almost upon us, I still ended up getting nothing for myself. Well, that's not entirely true. The awesome stuff I got (for a grand total of about $1.97 of my own expense) will definitely make summer days more fun for all of us :)
As I was scanning the island full of summer items, an employee walked by and noticed I was checking out these cute little pails they had, each with a different theme, full of related items. One was pink with a cookie mix in it, one was a "lemonade stand" pail (complete with the sign, lemonade mix, etc.), and then there was just one green one left. The employee says, "Oh! Aren't those cute?! They even have one where you can make a mudpie (seriously?!), and it has gummy worms in it, too." I grabbed the last green one, perfect for my son...and again, perfect for me :)
So, here's what LIAM got today:
a new collapsible summer chair covered in turtles, with the wide armrest/cupholder (perfect for the lake and beach (it was $30, 50% off, and then the $10 coupon made it $5!),
mudpie bucket (free),
Buzz Lightyear sipper, bowl, and placemat (cost me $1 something), and
a set of old-fashioned popsicle trays (free).
Here's what MOMMY got:
1 hour of peaceful shopping :)
